OPINION

In my opinion. I think Elsa as a Queen of Arendale should prepared something for Arendale safety of what happens in a future. We never know if Arendale will be peace all day long. They should prepared some trap for the enemy that attack Arendale. In that case we can sure that Arendale in a safe place. Next, we should not trust people so easily. Like Anna trust Hans for the second time by saving her from Vikings and falling in love with Hans. Anna did not know what Hans plans to do a bad thing on her. Besides that, Anna showed her love on Elsa by worrying Elsa climbing up in a mountain that might be danger on her. Anna fall a tears when she saw the palace of ice crumbled to the ground with Elsa inside. That she feels her sister, Elsa was truly dead.

Halloween
• Saturday, October 11, 2014 • 0 comments

Halloween is a traditional celebration held on October 31st. Today, Halloween is an excuse for Halloween theme costume parties, and entertainment with horror films, haunted houses and other activities around the popular themes of ghosts, witches, Dracula, werewolves and the supernatural. Children love to dress up in halloween costumes and go from door-to-door in their neighborhood following the old tradition of trick-or-treating, collecting sweets and gifts, sometimes money.

Halloween began as an ancient Celtic festival in Great Britain and Ireland, and has survived most strongly among Irish, Scottish and Welsh communities. Immigrants from these communities carried the tradition to North America where it has gained in popularity. In turn, as part of American pop culture, Halloween has spread in popularity to most corners of the English speaking western world, and increasingly into Western Europe in recent times.

Originally Halloween was a pagan festival, around the idea of linking the living with the dead, when contact became possible between the spirits and the physical world, and magical things were more likely to happen. Like most pagan festivals, long ago it was absorbed into the festivals of the expanding Christian church, and became associated with All Hallows Day, or All Saints Day, which eventually fell on November 1 under the Gregorian calendar. A vigil for the festival was held on All Hallows Evening on October 31. In the vernacular of the times, All Hallows Evening became Hallowe'en and later the Halloween we know today.

The celebration of Halloween survived most strongly in Ireland. It was an end of summer festival, and was often celebrated in each community with a bonfire to ward off the evil spirits. Children would go from door to door in disguise as creatures from the underworld  to collect treats, mainly fruit, nuts and the like for the festivities. These were used for playing traditional games like eating an apple on a string or bobbing for apples and other gifts in a basin of water, without using your hands. Salt might be sprinkled on the visiting children to ward off evil spirits. Carving turnips as ghoulish faces to hold candles became a popular part of the festival, which has been adapted to carving pumpkins in America.

Halloween is usually celebrated by both adults and kids. Some families celebrate by having costume parties and playing special games like bobbing for apples and telling ghost stories. Sometimes children go "trick or treating" - knocking on doors in their trusted neighborhoods collecting candy. Other times they may attend a community party instead. Parents should use common sense when supervising their child's Halloween activities.

In earlier years, Halloween was a time for playing harmless pranks. However, in more recent times, Halloween pranks have sometimes gotten out of hand - causing damage and injury to others.

Schools usually prefer to celebrate Halloween by having children dress as storybook characters. In this way, children are still allowed to "dress up, " and the holiday becomes both fun and educational.

La Tomatina, Bunol, Spain
• Saturday, October 11, 2014 • 0 comments

- ANISA -

The Tomatina started during the annual town festival in hour of their patrons San Luis Bertran and the Our Lady of the Forsaken. One parade that takes place during the town fiesta is the parade of the giant heads. As just so happened one year back in the 1940’s some youngsters wanted to participate in this parade but the participants didn’t let them join. In a moment of youthful impulse the kids barged into the parade knocking down one of the participants. When this person got back on his feet, furious with what had occurred, he went to the nearest stall and grabbed the first thing he could find—some tomatoes. I think you can imagine the rest. From that moment on, this festival has grown in popularity year after year.

During the week leading up to this epic battle, the 9000 inhabitants of Buñol watch as their town doubles in size. A whole week of parades, fireworks, food and street parties make this town the center of attention in Spain. The night before La Tomatina, the narrow streets beneath the town's medieval bell tower begin to fill with the smell of tomatoes.  You will find giant pans of delectable paella simmering, as is tradition, over wood-burning fires each one trying to win the paella contest. After the contest, wine flows and more food is eaten all over the small town until the early hours of the morning.

Then, early Wednesday morning, shopkeepers and business owners along the Plaza Mayor of the town set about covering windows and doors in preparation for the upcoming street brawl. Large trucks rumble up the cobblestone streets and arrive in the crowd-filled square ready to unload their haul of tomatoes for the crowd to use. Like many parties, this one doesn’t begin until the sound of an exploding bottle rocket lets the crowd know it is time to start throwing. On the back of the trucks there are townspeople unloading the tomatoes and pelting the crowd with some of the 120 tons of sloppy, squishy tomatoes trucked in from Chilches in Castellon.

Dressed in clothing doomed for the recycling bin, more than 20,000 revelers find the nearest target to hit or anything else that strays within range of their hand-crushed veggie blobs. Soon the streets are awash in seeds, pulp and tomato guts that will shortly leave the cobblestoned streets spotless—thanks to the acidity of the tomatoes—after being hosed down with water. This insanity ensues for exactly one hour until it ends the same way it began—with the sound of a bottle rocket.

YAYA  @  NAZIRAH

Originated as a bonfire ritual on the summer solstice in 1986, the festival has turned into an amazing, extravagant art fest. In the end a 72ft wooden man is set on fireThousands of free-thinking revellers, with enormous wooden sculptures in tow, have gathered in an ancient lake bottom in the Nevada for the start of the legendary Burning Man Festivals.Scheduled to begin on Monday rare shower turned the remote spot into a muddy quagmire, and forced attendees of the week-long counter-culture festival to spend the night on the black asphalt outside a Wal-Mart store and nearby casino.

Firstly, each year some 60,000 people descend on Nevada's Black Rock Desert, about 110 miles (177 km) north of Reno, with tickets ranging from $380 (£229) to $650 (£392).

Secondly,The city-sized festival, which began at San Francisco's Baker Beach in 1986, culminates with the burning of a towering wooden effigy on Labour Day weekend.

Thirdly, images from this year’s event show the enormous, ethereal wooden sculptures which take up the desert – some of which are draped in neon lights – built to fit with this year’s Silk-Road-inspired 'Caravansary' theme.
Meanwhile, people dressed as imaginatively as possible to navigate the desert heat dot the dried lakebed.

"Once a year, tens of thousands of participants gather in Nevada's Black Rock Desert to create Black Rock City, dedicated to community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance," the festival's website explains. Participants adhere to ten principles including: gifting, radical self-reliance, radical self-expression, communal effort and civic responsibility.

YAYA @ NAZIRAH

. Holi is one of the major festival of India and is the most vibrant of all. The joys of Holi knows no bound. The festival is celebrated across the four corners of India or rather across the globe. The festival is filled with so much fun and frolic that the very mention of the word 'Holi' draws smile and enthusiasm amongst the people. Holi also celebrates the arrival of Spring, a season of joy and hope.

Holi is one of the oldest festivals of India. There are many interesting stories associated with the festival's origin as one moves across the different states from North to South and East to West. Paintings and scriptures depict the roots of the festival. Mythology plays a very important part in narrating the festival of Holi. The most popular stories of Holi origin relates to 'Holika Dahan' and Legend of Radha-Krishan.

Integrally entwined with Holi, is the tradition of 'Holika Dahan', which is actually lighting of bonfires. The ritual is symbolic of victory of good over evil and has its root in the legend of demon king Hiranyakashyap who wished to end his blessed son, Prahlad's life with the help of his sister, Holika who burnt in the fir and no harm occurred to Prahlad. Since then the day is celebrated in victory of good over bad

Oktoberfest In Germany
• Saturday, October 11, 2014 • 0 comments

AIN

Oktoberfest is the world's largest funfair held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. It is a 16-day festival running from late September to the first weekend in October with more than 6 million people from around the world attending the event every year. Locally, it is often simply called Wiesn, after the colloquial name of the fairgrounds (Theresienwiese) themselves. The Oktoberfest is an important part of Bavarian culture, having been held since 1810. Other cities across the world also hold Oktoberfest celebrations, modeled after the original Munich event.

The Munich Oktoberfest originally took place during the 16 days up to, and including, the first Sunday in October. In 1994, the schedule was modified in response to German reunification so that if the first Sunday in October falls on the 1st or 2nd, then the festival would go on until October 3 (German Unity Day). Thus, the festival is now 17 days when the first Sunday is October 2 and 18 days when it is October 1. In 2010, the festival lasted until the first Monday in October, to mark the anniversary of the event.

The festival is held in an area named the Theresienwiese (field, or meadow, of Therese), often called Wiesn for short, located near Munich's center. Large quantities of Oktoberfest Beer are consumed, with almost 7 million litres served during the 16 day festival in 2007. Visitors may also enjoy a mixture of attractions, such as amusement rides, sidestalls and games, as well as a wide variety of traditional food such as Hendl (roast chicken), Schweinebraten (roast pork), Schweinshaxe (grilled ham hock), Steckerlfisch (grilled fish on a stick), Würstl (sausages) along with Brezen (pretzel), Knödel (potato or bread dumplings), Käsespätzle (cheese noodles), Reiberdatschi (potato pancakes), Sauerkraut or Rotkohl/Blaukraut (red cabbage) along with such Bavarian delicacies as Obatzda (a spiced cheese-butter spread) and Weisswurst (a white sausage)

Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

AIN

In Brazil the four days before Ash Wednesday, mark the country’s biggest holiday. Especially in Rio, the birthplace of samba music, the Carnival celebrations have become world renowned and are now a global icon of the city.
The history of Carnival is complex with dates and origin stories often debated. However, one thing is clear; in Rio, the modern day samba school competitions in the Sambódromo, the massive bloco celebrations that fill the streets and the gala balls held in various locations all share a rich and interwoven history.
The observance of Carnival began, according to many historians, in Italy as a celebration held by Catholics, before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, a six-week period of fasting and abstinence that ends at Easter. Eating meat was prohibited during Lent, and the origin of the word “carnival” comes from that feature: either “carne levare” meaning “to remove meat”; or “carne vale” or “farewell to meat.”
Carnival is said to have then spread to France and then throughout Europe. Catholic Portuguese settlers of Brazil are credited with bringing the Pre-Lenten celebrations to Rio de Janeiro with the first recorded Carnival took place during either the 17th or 18th century.
During the 19th century, different groups began to add to the celebrations in Rio. Some of there were “Grandes Sociedades” (Great Societies) which were luxurious parades held by aristocrats, and “Ranchos Carnavalescos”, which were organized working-class parades. There were also “Cordões” which were less organized groups of lower-class masked and costumed parading revelers.
The birth of samba music in the city played a crucial role in the formation of what are considered contemporary Carnival celebrations in Rio. During this time, the groups known as Cordões gradually became blocos.
The groups would parade in the streets with makeshift costumes while playing improvised samba songs. The practice is still observed today and the blocos make up the widely popular Carnival da Rua (street parade).
Over time, though, some of the blocos wanted to be become more organized. It was then that the Escolas de Samba (Samba Schools) were born. According to one version of the story, Deixa Falar, the first group to call themselves a “samba school”, did so because they held their meetings near an actual children’s school.
During the early 20th century the newly formed samba school’s parade became a competition. Over the years, the numbers of the samba schools and spectators increased significantly. They grew so much, that in 1983, famous Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer was commissioned to build the Sambódromo as a permanent site for the competitive parade.
The top twelve samba schools are known as the Special Group and they compete in the Sambódromo on the final two days of carnival for the championship. The competition is broadcast live in Brazil and is increasingly televised internationally.

CHINESE NEW YEAR,CHINA

ANIS AMIZA

The best celebration that China had was Chinese New Year if we had Merry Christmas for Christianity in China we had a Chinese New Year. There a lots of fun for this celebration and by the way this celebration also known as the Spring Festival, in China start on the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month of the Chinese calendar. The festival lasts for about 23 days, ending on the 15th day of the first lunar month in the following year in the Chinese calendar. Firstly something special this celebration was the evening of the Spring Festival Eve, many people set off fireworks and firecrackers, hoping to cast away any bad luck and bring forth good luck. Children often receive “luck” money. Many people wear new clothes and send Chinese New Year greetings to each other. Various activities such as beating drums and striking gongs, as well as dragon and lion dances, are all part of the Spring Festival festivities.

Secondly, this celebration also many people clean their homes to welcome the Spring Festival. They put up the red posters with poetic verses on it to their doors, Chinese New Year pictures on their walls, and decorate their homes with red lanterns. It is also a time to reunite with relatives so many people visit their families at this time of the year. In Malaysia when you are staying in Kuala Lumpur during Chinese New Year you should definitely visit the Petaling Street area in Chinatown. Here the Chinese temples are crowded with locals that come there to pray. You can witness lion dances and people lighting fireworks. All shopping malls in the city showcase their Chinese New Year theme. They are all decorated and during the first few days you will be able to witness lion dances within the stores. This is done to make sure the store is blessed and that business will be great that year. The first days of Chinese New Year are the only days of the year that you will witness many stores closed, as most of the Chinese business owners are visiting their relatives in their home towns or home countries.

In a conclusion Chinese New Year was the best celebration in this world because has its own uniqueness that why I choose this celebration because every that they have create in this celebration make own uniqueness and wonderful moments.
