In America on March 17 has long been commemorated with rollicking festival . The man is St Patrick Day is named was born aristocratic family in Roman Britain around the end of the fourth century . As a teenager , he was kidnapped by Irish pirates and taken to Ireland where he was held as a slave for a number of the years . Patrick became the patron saint of Ireland and March 17 became a holy day of obligation for the nation’s Catholics .

Next , people through Ireland will hold parades and festivals that celebrate Irish culture .Many towns and villages also have their own parade . Local musicians often perform during the parades . Usually for a week they visual and performing arts and music are held in many regions . The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly .

Futhermore , banks and other offices will close but pubs are generally open but they may closer earlier than usual . For symbol they use the shamrock the Republic of Ireland’s flag and the colours green , white and orange are St Patrick Day symbol .
